To illustrate our
capability, SCI currently manages the National
Capitol Region Land Mobile system which is the
largest P-25 Trunked system in the nation, with
26 sites that stretch from New York to Southern
Virginia in which continuity has played a
significant role in the implementation,
configuration, installation, integration and
providing Life Cycle Support.
By utilizing a
single network integrator to ensure
configuration, installation and integration, it
has increased network capability, system
flexibility, reliability, integrity and has
reduced downtime and cost.
With APCO P-25
quickly becoming the national standard for
communications, SCI has been on the forefront of
this technology for the last 10 years providing
options and solutions to ensure connectivity
even in the most remote locations utilizing
bi-directional antenna systems, wireless, fiber
and VOIP platforms for system interconnectivity
while at the same time reducing the operational
infrastructure footprint.
SCI also recognizes
declining budgets have played a key role in
thinking, and working outside the box to
maintain system performance and a reliable cost
effective life cycle support mechanism providing
project and program management solutions in a
single source integrator that can Sell it,
Design it, Stage it, Configure it, Install it,
Integrate it and Maintain it!
Being intimately familiar with an entire
system down to the component level save time and
money!
With increasing
demands for flexibility, capability and
longevity looking to tomorrow for today’s
solutions in communications networks will
undoubtedly be more complex with requirements to
support a larger and more diverse set of
operational characteristics.
Having a centralized hub for staging,
which can provide system continuity and
integrity before installation and integration
will significantly reduce cost and provide a
better platform for project management.
The Network Operations Center Option
Besides, staging,
configuration, installation and integration, SCI
can offer a Network Operations Center (NOC) to
oversee configuration management and Life Cycle
Support which monitors the health of entire
system as it grows, all the way through
completion.
It allows for a “one-stop-shop” for
programming, keying, over-the-air re-programming
and over-the-air rekeying across the entire
system on a 24/7, 365 basis.
The NOC also
provides a platform for maintaining system
continuity and integrity which can quickly
implement customer changes and manufacturer’s
updates as well as ensuring connectivity and
interoperability.
Changes in software
and hardware will occur over the life of a
system brought about in response to changes in
user requirements, equipment obsolescence, and
new technology developments.
Implementation of configuration
management (CM), before a system goes “HOT”,
will be critical to ensuring system
availability, connectivity, interoperability,
reliability, maintainability, and security.
The vital role that a centrally
controlled CM plays in maintaining a stable
operating LMR system cannot be overstated.
Ad hoc or installation-level changes made
in the basic LMR system configuration, without
board approval, could inhibit system
performance, or, in the worst case, compromise
the integrity of the system.
The NOC doesn’t
monitor the actual voice or data traffic, it
only monitors the health of the system to ensure
voice and data traffic can be passed through the
system to its intended destination.
With
SCI as a premiere Harris RF Communications
Network Solutions Provider with the background,
experience and expertise to provide a factory
like capability for large and small systems we can
confidently offer
assured
communications.
